General Information
The First and Emergency Aid program within the Department of Medical Services and Techniques is an associate degree program. It aims to train health technicians who analyze the current condition of the sick and injured in pre-hospital health services, provide life support when necessary, and ensure their safe transportation to hospitals. The program includes field courses such as anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, emergency patient care, emergency health services, basic life support, advanced life support, professional practice, courses on basic health services knowledge and practical courses to apply theoretical knowledge.

Aims and Objectives of the Program
The main purpose of the program is to take part in pre-hospital health care processes; To train intermediate healthcare human resources who are responsible, have analytical skills, have common sense, are patient and lifesaving oriented. The program aims to provide students with the following competencies;
To be able to analyze the conditions of patients until they reach the hospital and decide on the appropriate intervention,
Performing intravenous (intravenous) procedures and oxygen applications,
To provide basic life support,
Being able to use and assist in the use of necessary medical equipment (EKG, defibrillator, nebulizer, monitoring, respirators, etc.),
To gain competence in wound care and closure,
To take part in search and rescue activities,
Being responsible in resource use and organization processes.
The program also aims for students to gain strong communication skills, acquire problem-solving skills, and graduate as productive and hard-working individuals.

Admission Conditions
The basic admission conditions are for candidates to meet the conditions determined by ÖSYM, to be a high school graduate and to have received sufficient points from the University Student Selection Examination. For horizontal transfers, individuals must also meet the acceptance requirements.

Graduation Requirements
Students who have 120 ECTS/ECTS, a weighted GPA of "2.00" out of 4.00 and have completed their compulsory internship are entitled to graduation. Graduates are awarded an associate degree in the First and Emergency Aid Program.

Employment Opportunities
Graduates receive the title of "Health Technician". Graduates can be employed in 112 stations, ambulance companies and hospital emergency departments. The increase in demand for health services and the increase in service production has brought about an increase in the number of qualified health personnel. University and public hospitals are recruiting health technicians. In addition, the expansion in private health management and ambulance services has increased the need for health technicians.
